I would like to recognize Kassidy Jones, RN, for the kindness and compassion she showed toward our APU patient. The patient has been on APU and has had no visitors. She has lots of family stressors and little support for a single mother-to-be. When I was rounding today, Kassidy shared that she hoped to connect more with the patient and help her feel more comfortable during her stay. Kassidy created ice packs for her shoulders and forehead. The patient has been with headaches. She was encouraged to wear her own clothes if she wished. Kassidy took her out to the food truck; the patient and Kassidy shared their lunch in the sunshine. Kassidy went above and beyond.
