Susan has provided care in this institution for 36 years. She has been a very effective charge nurse in PACU for many years. She has demonstrated critical care skills in the management of many patients in urgent and emergent situations over the years. Sue has always demonstrated good leadership skills and has always led by example.

Just as importantly, she is compassionate and her demeanor has put many anxious patients at ease. For several years she has provided the special service of placing PICC lines using ultrasound guidance. She solicited necessary information from outside sources, organized the troops, and approached the multi-faceted problem in an organized and logical manner when a power outage occured and failure of the O.R. cooling towers. She demonstrated great leadership skills and great respect for the efforts of all others involved. A great indication of Sue's nursing skills and her ability to interact with the operating room staff is the great respect and appreciation she is shown by the surgeons and anesthesiologists.
