While my wife was receiving an outpatient IVIG Infusion and Hope discovered my discomfort from cancer chemo side effects. She took the initiative to check my mouth and tongue. Seeing ulcers, she then contacted my doctor and arranged for a special compound mouthwash prescription. This medication was then phoned in for me to pick up upon leaving the hospital.

This demonstrates that Hope includes the family in her patient care. Hope did not have an obligation to examine the patient's spouse or to notify his physician. She could have easily told him to follow up with his physician and left it at that! This demonstrates Hope going above and beyond in her patient care.
