Nurse Lin RN provided amazing care and compassion to my 92-year-old mother who was sent to Observation Care after her visit to the Emergency Department. My mother had fallen in her bathroom, hit her head, was briefly unconscious, had much bleeding from injuring her arm and elbow, and was also diagnosed with a UTI and Colitis. She did not start her day thinking it would lead to a hospital excursion. Lin had much patience to listen to how my mother was feeling.

She was attentive to my mother's skin issue to ensure all bandages were placed and removed with the utmost care so as not to tear my mother's paper-thin skin and cause pain. Lin also regularly checked on my mother throughout the evening... to ensure she was resting comfortably. The first night was especially difficult, and Lin consulted with doctors to provide the correct medication to get my mother comfortable and resting. It was not a good night, and Lin stayed calm to hear what my mother was experiencing before she quickly returned to administer the medication. This made a huge difference, and after a restful sleep, Mother was much improved.

Lin also demonstrated some techniques to my wife and me for how to remove my mother's bandages so my mother would not feel so much pain and also ideas of other bandages to purchase in the future to care for my mother's skin tears.

Additionally, it was so nice of Lin to share her story about how special her mother was to her and how her mother also had a fall and to urge caution to my mother. My mother so much enjoyed Lin's care and attentiveness, which relieved my mother's anxiety about being in the hospital. I am very thankful there was such an experienced and compassionate person to help my mother. Wow, and Thank You.
