I am writing to express my appreciation and gratitude for Carla. We had a patient who was bleeding and septic from a spleen injury arrive to pre-op area from the ER on a Sunday in July.

Carla immediately assisted us in pre-op and accompanied us from pre-op to the OR. She checked all blood products and helped administer them. She also assisted the circulation OR nurse during the surgery. She stayed until the end of the surgery and helped us take the patient to the ICU.

Carla was a superstar that day and contributed to the resuscitation and saving of this patient’s life. During my practice as an anesthesiologist for more than 25 years, I have not encountered such a practiced and helpful PACU nurse. I am so grateful and thankful to have had Carla with us on that day, and she deserves recognition for her extraordinary and exceptional care given to this patient.
