My wife was admitted to the unit recently and Nurse Terri worked many of the shifts and took care of her. Even though she was incredibly busy, she always got back to my wife with a smile on her face and a comforting and reassuring manner.

She treated my wife as a fellow human being first and patient second. This is the subtle but most important distinction between someone doing their job and someone who truly cares. She made sure that she had her personal needs taken care of, as well as her medical needs. The other nurses on the floor were indeed wonderful but Terri really went the extra mile.

When my wife was reaching the end of her journey, Terri came over to make sure that she was as comfortable as possible. This was after her shift and very late. She was not assigned to my wife’s room, but she cared enough to visit us. She rearranged her pillows, made her bed more comfortable, and did little things to care for her. She brought in a recliner for me so I could stay next to my wife. I will never forget how caring she was in my hour of need. She comforted me and gave me the strength to be with my wife.
