I was recently admitted to the hospital due to some complications from a procedure done while on vacation. I initially went to the ER to hopefully receive some medication and be sent home but unfortunately that wasn’t the case and it was deemed necessary that I needed to be admitted so that I could receive IV antibiotics. The med/surg floor was at capacity so I was placed in the OB unit. From the very beginning of my stay, Tammy was there with a smile on her face and a desire to make sure that I was as comfortable as possible. She went above and beyond to advocate for what I wanted and made sure that I understood what was happening and why it was happening. Never did she make me feel like it was a burden to help me or to explain things I may not fully understand. Tammy was a shining light to my family and me, and we looked forward to seeing her smile and her happy demeanor every day! I cannot adequately express in words how much Tammy helped us remain calm and positive when we could have fallen apart! She made us feel like family and went out of her way to ensure we were always well taken care of! Tammy is an asset to the nursing profession and stands out as an example for all of us in how to treat one another! Thank you so much, Tammy, from the bottom of our hearts!!! You are a gift to everyone around you!
