I was an addict for 7 years of my young life and unfortunately became a regular at the Finley ER. Kara was on the night shift at that point and she tended to always end up with me. She never treated me differently or looked down on me. She was always the kindest person I would encounter. She could have just considered me a frequent flyer and treated me as such, but she never did. She always gave me the best care possible. She encouraged me to get clean and to get my life turned around. I truly believe she saved my life.

This year marked 2 years substance-free. I don’t think she knows just how much of an impact she has had in my life and I want her to know that she is one of the best nurses there is in Dubuque. Her compassion and empathy made the biggest difference and I will be forever grateful for her. Kara is truly a remarkable nurse. Thank you, Kara.
