My 6-year-old son was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic Lymphoma. He had his first outpatient treatment the day after Thanksgiving and because of the holiday, the clinic was closed. The treatment was performed on the 8th-floor inpatient oncology unit in a treatment exam room. Kasie came in extra that day to care for him even though the clinic was closed. Kasie was the first nurse that my son met on his first visit to the clinic and he just gravitated to her after that. We travel over an hour for treatments and during our drive, my son is always telling me about what he is going to talk with Kasie about during his visit. He brings different plushies each week so Kasie can meet all of his friends.

Kasie always has the best attitude whenever we see her. She is so patient with my son. When he first began treatment he was so nervous about all of the changes to his life and daily routine. Kasie was right there with him along the way. If she is not his nurse on a particular clinic day she will come over and check on him and explain what is going to happen. She has an extreme talent for calming him. She breaks it all down into comprehensible bites for us to understand. She is very caring and anyone can see that she adores being a nurse! I am so grateful for Kasie. Without her compassion, I am not sure where my family would be. She is an exemplary nurse!
