Emily King exemplifies each and every criterion of the DAISY Award. Emily has not only been my mother’s nurse in ATA but a compassionate friend to both of us. She has demonstrated her commitment to her nursing profession by always putting her patient’s needs first and treating them with dignity, kindness, and respect. I have witnessed Emily help other nurses while working diligently to care for her own team and maintain her composure with the utmost empathy. She constantly shows her dedication and experience in paying attention to the details of things that others might have overlooked.

I always felt assured and at peace that my mother was receiving the best care with Emily and all the staff in the ATA department. I appreciated and observed the communication that she and the rest of the team had with one another. Emily went out of her way to help me during a critical time of need and coordinated the communication between the nurses and physicians that I could not reach out to, all the while ensuring me that everything would be okay! Emily’s positive attitude lifts the spirits of everybody around her and I would be honored to have her at any hospital I attend. Thank you, Emily for being and serving as an angel to my mother and I.
