This is my second amazing interaction with Frank. He was on my team doing my wrist surgery a month before I had my firstborn in 2021. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are informed and comfortable, even if you’re a support person.

Today I had to go through one of the most mentally difficult procedures of my life, a D&C, for my baby who lost their heartbeat. I had no idea how I was supposed to get through something like that and could not stop crying. I was taken into my pre-op bay, and behold, my angel nurse, whom I had told every one of my friends/family about. How could I forget the man who taught me to “smell the rose then blow out the candle” (Breathing for anxiety)? I instantly felt more comfortable, and he held space for me to grieve like it was second nature. He made sure I was swaddled in all the warm blankets and numbed me up for my IV, which I have never had, and I really appreciated. He made me feel like a priority even though I’m sure he had other patients he was making feel the same way.

Upon waking from my anesthesia, I noticed there was a portable speaker by my bed playing the most relaxing jazz piano to wake up to without having to hear the dead quiet/beeping of the hospital. Never once did I feel rushed or pressured to speed the process along. He even managed to make me laugh even though my heart was shattered.
