A very sick, young patient presented to the ED one day in very critical condition. The patient’s condition was very serious, and intervention was needed quickly. Jeff arrived to the ED and sprung into action. Jeff guided the working ED nurses and assisted them with any questions they had. Jeff helped stabilize the patient and helped transport them to the OR. As hectic of a situation as it was, Jeff took the time to guide 2 AC nursing students with putting in a Foley catheter and OG tube. Before the patient went to the OR, Jeff brought the patient’s wife in and calmly explained everything that was happening, answered any questions she had, and told her the steps that would follow. UPMC WMD is lucky to have Jeff Hobbs. He is an exceptional nurse who has great bedside skills and professionalism.
