Lisa goes above and beyond to make new patients and their families feel welcome and comfortable. She always has a smile and a positive attitude. She always provides education to residents. She travels to other units to find items to make her new patient comfortable. She took time to get to know new patients answer questions and tour. She always responds in 10 minutes or less when the call light is used. As a nurse for 20 years, being a patient is a new thing. I am a charge nurse and I’m always looking at other team structures. Lisa works as a team player regardless of her job, she takes the needed time to complete tasks which ultimately is taking care of the resident. Lisa always had a smile on her face. She answered questions and for the things she didn’t know she found and returned with answers. When we were transferred it was extremely late at night. We were so hungry. They gathered snacks and drinks and even personal food to make sure we had a meal. While reviewing medications and orders we found some errors. Immediately these errors were stopped, and the physician was notified. Instead of waiting for hours for a response, Lisa continued to try to communicate with the provider on-call and kept us updated. Lisa was professional, yet compassionate. I was so impressed by this nurse’s demeanor, compassion, empathy, and professionalism, educated and confident. My pain was managed and controlled. Lisa is an exemplary employee and a true example of what Kettering model staff should be.
