This nurse is the true definition of what a nurse should be; she is caring and is very hands-on with her patients. The dedication that she brings is unmatched by any nurse I have met before. She puts her patients first every single day, and she assists the bedside nursing team with changing a patient, helping with a bath, and making sure they have all needs met prior to discharge. She is always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to our patients. This nurse helped a hospice patient bathe when she saw the daughter of the patient giving her a bath and crying during the process. She allowed the daughter to vent and provided her support. She is empathetic, caring, hardworking, and consistent. She spends many hours long after her assigned time to make sure our patients receive the highest level of care possible. She is an advocator, always advocating in the best interest of our patients. She inspires me every day to step back from the day-to-day workflow and look past the gown and instead truly see the patient wearing the gown. She is a blessing to our community, and I don’t know what our patients or our department would do without her! She is a perfect example of a DAISY Nurse!
