We met RayAnne when my dad was admitted from the ED after holding there for a few days. From the moment she received the report, she was completely dedicated to helping Dad get the care and answers he needed. He was admitted with no true diagnosis outside of AMS, with many tests and doctors to be met with. RayAnne had a full patient load but remained in communication with us (his family) with updates and just checking in to see how we were doing. She also had some of the sweet Galen nursing students involved with searching for specialists to consult and keeping a check on Dad’s vitals and status.

Later that evening, Dad was sent to Neuro ICU. It was well past the end of RayAnne’s shift, and she stayed vigilant by our side during his room transition to make sure that we were ok. She probably still had hours left of charting. RayAnne is the epitome of compassion, empathy, selflessness, and excellence in nursing. She is an absolute angel, and I could not be more grateful for her. She is what living your mission exemplifies and keeps faith restored in selfless healthcare heroes. My only regret is that Dad did not get to meet this wonderful angel. Thank you, RayAnne, for truly making a difference for us during this incredibly emotional time. We are forever grateful to you.
