There have been many situations in which Kim has shown her exceptional compassion towards our patients. I want to bring to light an evening in which a patient presented for an urgent same day CT exam. The patient had been at a doctor's appointment that turned into a need for a CT exam. The patient has been in rehab from recent surgery and when he came for his CT his colostomy bag needed to be changed. There is no nurse in the CT department and it was about 4:45pm and most staff had left. Kim was in the process of leaving for the day and came to see what we needed. After assessing the situation, she knew she needed to help the patient. We have no supplies for changing a colostomy and Kim had to go to one of the floors to gather supplies. Not only did she change it for the patient but she explained the process to his wife as well so they would know how to do it in the future. Kim spent over a half an hour with the patient after her shift was over. She had gone above and beyond to help this patient. This is one of the many ways that Kim is always there to help the Radiology department. We are so very lucky to have her with us.
