Holly went above and beyond in this one particular instance to ensure the patient received adequate care and timely intervention by using all available resources. She ensured patient safety was maintained by being quick to recognize that the patient needed immediate intervention by the surgical team and needed to be taken to the OR for a procedure. She remained calm and collected while speaking with the patient’s entire care team and communicated effectively to provide excellent patient care. While this is not a one-time thing for her, she is an above-average nurse and takes excellent care of her patients. This particular instance stood out in my mind and showed why she is a DAISY Nurse. Holly always assists her co-workers when in need, works overtime when needed, and comes in on her days off to help. She stayed several hours after her scheduled time to leave on this particular day to ensure the patient received the best care possible.
