I had hip replacement surgery and spent two days in your hospital. My nurse was Kearstin Matsche. I was brought into my room and was greeted with a huge genuine smile and warm greeting by her- in fact she smiled and was sincerely friendly the entire time I was there! I’ve had a lot of very good nurses, but none quite as good as Kearstin! She was always friendly and caring- going out of her way to make sure I was comfortable after my painful surgery. I never had to turn on my call light because she was always in checking on me- even as busy as she was- she took the time to be with me. She went out of her way to make sure I understood my surgery and what to expect the following days- she is so knowledgeable with the medical procedures. 

Kearstin was so caring, and she always made sure I was comfortable, listened, and answered the questions I had- never making me feel that I was asking or talking too much. Even after my release and had to be brought back in because of in need of more care, she met me and that warm smile and greeting made me feel safe and cared for- and she wasn’t even my nurse! How do you know when someone goes above and beyond? When you know by her actions and not just words, knowing I would be cared for and listened to and not just being there- that is Kearstin! She is all that a great nurse should be- and a leader in her field. A thank you from me just isn’t enough- she deserves to be recognized as an Extraordinary Nurse!
