The way she maintains her high moral ground and strong work ethics despite being extremely busy is just astounding.
I have had many years of experience working in the medical field, and I have been a travel nurse for many years. Out of all of the nurses I have worked with through the years I have never met one as helpful, dedicated and kind as Teresa Mirra. She has told me she is a float RN and only comes down to the ED every once in a while, which is a shame. Our department could use such an amazing addition to our team. The way she talks to her patients, the way she cares for them as if they were her own. The way she maintains her high moral ground and strong work ethics despite being extremely busy is just astounding. She has gone out of her way to be of assistance to any staff member in need never asking for something in return. I feel as though just saying thank you to her is not enough. No nurse who shares her compassion and love for caring for others should ever go without getting a DAISY Award at least once in their career. I had a very difficult night shift with numerous altered mental status patients who were high fall and safety risks with no tech on to assist. Any time one of my patients was attempting to get up or needed something and I was not there Theresa never once hesitated to help. She had my back every moment of that night despite having her own heavy assignment. Patients remained safe because of her caution and compassion.
