I was diagnosed with breast cancer and hospitalized with a serious case of shingles. Haley Johnson popped in to help get me settled in my room when I first checked in and we joked about no licorice in the vending machine and my chemotherapy cravings. That night after her shift was over, she went out and bought me licorice and had it sent up to me. My stay ended up being eight days and during that time, I got very sad since I missed Christmas with my family, and I was so nervous about cancer. Haley checked on me even though I wasn't her patient. Haley held my hand and showed me so much love and support. Haley came into my room on one particularly hard day and hugged me and cried with me. I needed an angel and the love she showed me. Haley is a new generation of loving, patient nurses that love their job and their patients. Haley went above and beyond her job at every turn.
