Lauren Keene has been involved with my daughter's care on a few of our hospital stays. Lauren is always the most compassionate nurse. My daughter is only two and has a lot of trauma associated with her many hospital stays but Lauren always treats her like a person with valid feelings instead of patronizing and asking her what's wrong or why she's crying or saying "she hates me" like most nurses do when my daughter is upset. Lauren goes out of her way to try and comfort her and when she knows it's a lost cause, she always comforts me. She makes sure I have what I need, has sat with my daughter so I could run to the Ronald McDonald room to grab a snack and takes excellent care of us. I never feel like I have to apologize for my daughter’s discomfort the way I do with other staff members. Lauren seems to understand and empathize. Lauren goes above and beyond for us, and is a pleasure to spend time with in an otherwise rough situation.
