There are simply not enough words to describe how amazing of a professor Dr. Howell is. I can confidently say that I have learned so much from her, and am constantly inspired by her. She not only teaches in terms we can understand, but also goes the extra mile for other types of learners by incorporating hands-on activities, case studies, and real life examples. It is clear that she is passionate about teaching and never leaves any student behind. If something is unclear or "muddy" as she likes to say, she takes extra care to go back over the subject in detail until everyone can understand. She is always energized when going over a subject and excited to teach, which only emboldens us to feel the same about learning. Not only is she a knowledgeable professor, but she also deeply cares about her students and their mental health. She has always provided us with an open space to discuss anything bothering us in our personal or school lives and makes every effort to build meaningful, long-lasting connections. She periodically checks in on me, even though she no longer teaches me as I am a senior and is not my overseeing faculty. This shows that she truly cares, despite not having an obligation to. She is confident in her field, patient, and very kind-hearted. I truly believe she should be recognized for her many attributes and think that she beautifully exemplifies what it means to be a DAISY Nurse Educator.
