My grandfather went into sudden respiratory failure at his nursing home a few weeks ago. He was transferred to Baptist Integris because his usual hospital was on diversion. I live a state away and nothing is more frightening than making medical decisions for a loved one who is intubated and incapacitated. His ICU nurse, Matthew Miner, went above and beyond in communication. We conversed daily regarding his health status and plan of care. He would connect me to the physician, case management, and other team members for all my questions and concerns. He never rushed me on the phone and when I came to visit in person, he would be sure to say hello and give me updates. His compassion for the patients was more than I could hope for. He genuinely wanted his patients to improve and wanted to keep the families informed. This open communication gave me great confidence in his care. Moving forward, I cannot say enough great things about Integris. I would feel comfortable for any family member to stay at Integris.
