My grandfather was a patient in the CCU for around 4 days. He was a train wreck when he arrived. He was in and out of v-fib and did go into respiratory distress while in Heather Ardner's care. Heather was able to explain everything that was going on to my mother, grandmother, grandfather, and uncle while everything was going on. He decided to be a DNR no intubation during the time of his respiratory distress. During the night my grandfather "rallied" as they say with hospice patients and you could not tell there was anything wrong with him. Once I had arrived the next morning to visit my grandfather told me how great Heather was and she even got him some ice cream he had been wanting all day. My grandfather adored her during his stay. He was sadly placed into the hospice service and later passed that day. Heather was not his nurse the day of his passing but he had asked where she was so he could say goodbye and tell her how great she was. Heather not only went above and beyond for myself and my family but for him as well. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts as being my grandfather's favorite nurse during his time of need. She treated us like family and was always there when we needed something.
