Our son spent over a month in the NICU after a very difficult delivery. We met AnnaBelle early on in his NICU journey and we quickly found there is no one quite like her. There are a few specific moments we will always remember about AnnaBelle. Our son needed a very important MRI. The doctors and nurses worked hard to get our son off of certain machines and medications to be able to have his MRI. When he finally had the ability to go, it looked like he would have to go during the night shift. AnnaBelle volunteered to take care of him that night, knowing she would have to get him there along with many, many machines and medications. After they returned from MRI, she made sure he got a good bath, something he hadn’t been able to get because he had been so unstable. To have someone who willingly wanted to take care of our son in this way, despite the stress it most likely would cause, meant so much to us. The morning after the MRI, AnnaBelle was still at work as the Easter bunny. When she finished seeing the other babies she came to our room as just herself. We had just received very tough news about his MRI, and she immediately hugged us. She explained she has seen miracles in the NICU and we found so much comfort in her words. A few weeks later when our son became much more stable, only requiring a feeding tube in his nose, they moved us to a new room. AnnaBelle was a charge nurse one night and arranged for us to have a dinner together as a family of 3. She went out of her way multiple times to ensure our son, and we were taken care of and provided the most sincere care possible. We did not meet many nurses like AnnaBelle. We are forever grateful for the love she showed our son and our family.
