I was working with Gracie on a high-acuity patient initially placed on 2W. I was following up on a dysphagia evaluation and quickly realized this patient needed instrumental assessment (FEES). Gracie was managing so much between myself, the patient who was quickly declining, the neurologist rounding on this patient early, and her other patients. We needed specific prescriptions before the FEES examination, and an NG was to be attempted during the examination as well. Gracie was juggling a lot and doing a remarkable job in coordinating care between disciplines. We were meeting with the hospitalist, neurologist, PA, and doing assessments all within 2 hours of her shift. Neurology requested medication begin immediately following FEES and subsequent transfer to ICU. Gracie was an asset in this team, demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, and has the necessary clinical skills to manage this situation. The patient has since been in ICU, getting the higher level of care she needs. I appreciate all that Gracie did to attend to each and every discipline promptly and respectfully. I am grateful to be working with her!
