From the beginning of her shift, until the end, we were so grateful to be in her care. Her efficiency evoked calmness and assurance.
My 70-year-old spouse was emergency airlifted to Banner University Medical Center from Show Low Summit Healthcare Hospital. He had suffered a bilateral saddle pulmonary embolism. In the 8 days of his stay, he was so fortunate to be cared for by Rachel Jones, RN. Her CARE and KINDNESS to him and to our family went above and beyond with every single task throughout our day.

First and foremost, her PROFESSIONALISM: managing his daily care, and conducting herself with integrity and humility, seamlessly. From the beginning of her shift, until the end, we were so grateful to be in her care. Her efficiency evoked calmness and assurance.

Secondly, Rachel was INFORMATIVE and RESPECTFUL: we knew his upcoming daily schedule/tasks/tests/procedures, and why these were happening. She both listened and answered politely any of his questions and concerns.

No task seemed too great or too small: from blood draws to uninterrupted meals to a hello and goodbye at the end of her shift.

Thirdly, Rachel is COMPASSIONATE to her patients and their families. It doesn’t stop when she is waiting for the elevator to leave her 12-hour shift. I, his wife, was standing crying alone (frightened for my husband, our family, and his future prognosis), and Rachel walked over to me (away from the elevators) to hug and reassure me.

Lastly, a quote from Rachel’s best sums up what an extraordinary nurse she is. When asked by my husband if she could bring him some graham crackers when it is easy for her. Rachel responded, “It’s always easy,” with a loving smile and a quick turn to go get whatever you needed done promptly.
