Lyx's open-door policy makes him accessible to staff, creating an environment of trust.
Lyx has gone above and beyond to build the MPU, GI Clinic, and Pain Clinic departments in extraordinary ways, providing opportunities for staff members to share suggestions and opinions. Staff are involved in the onboarding process, taking part in panel interviews to ensure that candidates are introduced and can assist in providing feedback. No issue is too big or too small for him to address. He escalates significant matters to the best of his ability, tapping any resources to help solve problems. His open-door policy makes him accessible to staff, creating an environment of trust. His compassion is always observed, checking in with patients. His respect for each staff member also ensures he has our respect for him.
As he has built the UPC and supported its meetings, he has supported professional development, checking in with their needs. He believes in equal opportunity, ensuring every staff member receives daily huddle information through rounds and emails. His enthusiasm for providing CICARE in his day-to-day interactions with staff, colleagues, physicians, ancillary staff, patients, and visitors ensures better outcomes via communication and throughput. His promotion of professional nursing practice by huddling updates on policies and procedures, supporting A3 problem solving with UPC, and open-minded listening to staff's suggestions and concerns have provided a safe community for everyone to work, practice, and care for.
