Her constant support and calming nature allowed me to stay calm when all seemed to be going wrong. After the chaotic birth of our son, Lisa stayed by our son in the nursery, ensuring he was doing well.
To begin, I was a patient at Atrium Health Lincoln. The induction / delivery started off relatively normal (at least what we expected for our first child). In hindsight, we realized that it developed quickly into an emergency that could have turned out much worse. I think that deserves kudos as the doctors, nurses, and staff were professional and calm during what was turning into our worst nightmare. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the entire labor and delivery nursing staff, OB physicians, pediatric nurses, and physicians for providing our baby with every chance to live.
We were fortunate to be able to have Lisa as our nurse for several days throughout our stay. Lisa was a part of our stay from labor induction, birth, and discharge. For the entirety of our stay, Lisa went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, felt supported, and had all my needs met. She got to know my husband and I on a personal level. Lisa would request to be our nurse when she came back to work each day to help keep our experience consistent. Prior to my cesarean delivery, Lisa was by my bedside, reassuring me all would be well and that the team of OR physicians and staff were the best at their jobs. Her constant support and calming nature allowed me to stay calm when all seemed to be going wrong. After the chaotic birth of our son, Lisa stayed by our son in the nursery, ensuring he was doing well. It was very reassuring and calming to know our son was in great hands when we couldn't be by his side.
On the day of discharge, Lisa was our nurse and was able to see us off with our miracle son. Lisa expressed how fulfilled she felt in her profession to have seen our journey from beginning to end and to have been a part of seeing the full recovery our son made. My family and I cannot express how much of an impact Lisa made on us during our stay. Her professionalism and caring nature made our unique and traumatic experience the best it could have been. She truly made our experience the best!
Throughout my stay at the Lincoln Hospital, we interacted with several nurses, physicians, healthcare techs and others. We cannot express how pleased we were with our five days stay. From the time we arrived at the ER to be admitted through our discharge, we felt cared for, seen, and special by each person who came into our room. While this is an experience no first-time parent wants to go through, we can say the staff went above and beyond to care for myself, my husband, our son and our extended family. I would happily recommend the New Beginnings maternity unit to any and all delivering moms in the Denver/ Lincolnton area. They are each so special, excel in their professions and have made a lasting impact on our family. We heard several times during our stay how a situation such as ours was rare. Although our situation was unique, we truly believe your staff at New Beginnings Lincoln, NC is where we were meant to be for the delivery of our son. It truly felt like your staff was our extended family, and we are forever grateful.
