I would like to nominate Levi in the CICU for the DAISY Award. My mom was admitted, and Levi was my mother’s favorite nurse and mine, too. He sets a very high standard for all other nurses, and it felt as if he genuinely cared about the well-being of my mom and my family. He always took time to explain what was going on and would ask if I had any questions. I stayed overnight one night, and he took the time to find me both a blanket and a pillow, as he told me that pillows were hard to obtain for visitors. I was so glad that he was on every night of her stay there. 

I noted that Levi had received a few DAISY Award nominations already, as he had them displayed near his badge, but at the time, I didn’t know what they were. I am so glad he let me know how my mom was doing at all times. 

He let me stay in for the doctor to perform a procedure as my mom was agitated that I would have to leave the room, and I wanted to thank him for letting me stay with her while that was done. Nursing is definitely Levi’s calling, as I think it takes a special person to perform his job. He would be a great teacher for how all nurses in the WellSpan York Hospital should perform their job. 

My mom was in great hands, and my family and I are forever grateful to Levi for everything he did for my mom. I cannot say thank you enough to Levi. When I left the hospital, he told me that he would miss my mom, and I really felt that he meant that wholeheartedly. I hope you will share what I wrote with Levi. I wish him the best of luck with his nursing career as I think it is his true calling and any family would be extremely lucky to have Levi as their nurse as their family member would be in the best hands possible.
