Because of Natalie's coordination and compassion, this patient was able to get the necessary imaging completed which is the last needed information for her life saving transplant workup.
Today, I witnessed a nurse fiercely advocate for a patient. Natalie is a charge RN of the IMCU. It is a difficult unit with high-acuity patients. Natalie holds and demonstrates core values of Safety, Integrity, and Compassion. Today, there was a patient on her unit who needed to go out of the hospital with AMR transport for a needed mammogram to be able to be listed for a transplant. Natalie telephoned, texted, and fielded calls from many directions to coordinate the safe transport of this patient. She coordinated getting the patient into a wheelchair on the unit to confirm that the patient would be able to safely tolerate her imaging. She even brought a wheelchair across the street to the imaging center and met the critical care transport so this patient could have the proper equipment to be successful for her imaging.

Because of Natalie's coordination and compassion, this patient was able to get the necessary imaging completed which is the last needed information for her life saving transplant workup. She goes above and beyond daily to make sure patients on her floor are safe and getting the best care possible. This is just ONE example of what she did on a Friday. Humanity is lucky to have Natalie looking out for them.
