Erica was very attentive to my needs. Erica explained every procedure that she was performing in my room. She took small moments to laugh with us as she related to things that we were discussing when she entered the room. This showed me that she was attentive to what was going on in my room. Her actions caused a quick nurse/patient bond to start. My wife and I say witty things to each other all day; Erica is witty, too. She fit right into our conversations, and we were laughing most times when she exited the room. Erica went above and beyond her job duties. When I found that there was something left behind that I needed to have in my overnight bag, Erica did not stop until she found the item that I needed. She is a dedicated nurse who has a lot of patience. Erica made an impact on my hospital stay by being prompt when I rang for assistance, and she stayed connected to the doctors by text to get answers that I needed to be less concerned about laying in the hospital with blood clots in my leg from Friday to the following week about this life-saving surgery that I need to have. She worked really hard to keep me centered and my pain level down. Erica is true to the mission of the hospital as she completes her duties, but she also seems to feel what the patients are facing waiting for others to give the next level of care. She has shown to be an advocate for the doctor and the patient. I could see how happy she was when she received the orders to take me down to surgery on Monday. After the surgery, she was there again, rendering her level of care. She even pushed me to my car, helped me to get in, and buckled up. My wife and I are nominating Erica Johnson for the DAISY Award.
