Kasey is our light, our beacon, our hope, our Florence.
Kasey routinely goes above and beyond in every aspect of her nursing career. From education to precepting to administrative duties. She frequently "works the floor" to help cover critical night shift hours, not because she has to...but because she wants to. She is the epitome of a team player and is an outstanding asset to this hospital. She never requests or requires recognition of her hard work and extra effort, but we want her to know that we see her, we appreciate her, and we love her!

I wish to extend this DAISY nomination to Kasey Hurley on behalf of the entire night shift staff at Randolph Health ED. Kasey routinely goes above and beyond in every aspect of her duties. She puts in long hours every week to fill holes in the schedule, keeping us from running short every night. She is not only an effective leader but a superb friend. Her caring, mother-like nature nurtures staff and builds our confidence with every patient we see. She runs constantly, dealing with outside-the-box issues and guiding us through critical situations with grace and dignity. Her leadership style is undoubtedly unlike others we’ve witnessed, she truly believes in the vision of the department set forth by our director: We win as a team, or we fail as a team and we grow as a family. She never shies away from difficult conversations and is quick to compliment us when we succeed. She is the nurse that we strive to be: intelligent, firm, kind, balanced, and confident. Though she is a clinical supervisor, she spends more time on the floor and in the trenches guiding us, and we are forever grateful for that. Ideally, we should highlight the times she has gone above and beyond for patients, but this is never a one-time event. This is every single shift for her. She cares for the homeless as if they were her family, she shows compassion for the elderly, and love for all people above and beyond what is expected of an ED nurse. Kasey is our light, our beacon, our hope, our Florence. We love you, Kasey!

I do not live in Asheboro; I work here. I was a bit apprehensive about going to a hospital that I was unfamiliar with. Have no fear, Nurse Hurley is here! I think smiling is contagious here at Randolph Health; in addition to a spirit of genuine concern after revealing my list/series of illnesses in hospitals around the country, I have received looks from the nurses that said, "Oh well, let me hurry up and get this person from in front of me." On the contrary, Nurse Hurley became even more compassionate and made it a point to make me feel welcome, and I was among people whose intent was to locate the problem and make it better. #It worked
