Rebecca Woodbury went above and beyond in taking care of our daughter. When we first met Rebecca, you would have never known she had a heavy assignment. She treated our daughter with grace and dignity. My daughter hated having an IV, and all IV push meds and antibiotics were a struggle even just to hang and run. She had severe anxiety over it and would start to panic and cry just thinking about it. Whenever my daughter, E, needed an antibiotic, Rebecca would never just hang it and run. Rebecca stayed there and helped calm her down with me. Rebecca cared about our daughter. She even picked out her favorite type of stuffed animal, which was goofy and made her laugh. E totally forgot that she even had an IV infusing. When it was time for us to be discharged home, Rebecca went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed before going home. Rebecca even let E help her take out her IV. E wanted to help. Let me tell you, though, Rebecca has the patience of a saint. She stayed at her bedside for over twenty minutes while E peeled off piece by piece of the Tegaderm and tape surrounding the IV. She was even fifteen minutes late leaving for shift report because she wanted to ensure E had control over the situation and felt comfortable. Rebecca made a very difficult and scary hospital stay so much easier for us.
