Cindy Lefton, PhD, RN, CPXP

Cindy Lefton has combined her knowledge as an Organizational Psychologist with her extensive experience as a Registered Nurse to develop strategies aimed at helping healthcare facilities across the globe create and sustain healthy work environments by utilizing meaningful recognition to engage staff, encourage skilled communication, promote true collaboration, inspire authentic leadership, embolden effective decision making, and describe appropriate staffing.

As a consultant for Psychological Associates, a frontline healthcare worker at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and “volunteer Director of Research for The DAISY Foundation, Cindy has served as a co-investigator for various studies demonstrating how The DAISY Award, a powerful form of meaningful recognition positively impacts individuals, organizations, patients, and their families.

Dr. Lefton has published articles various articles on meaningful recognition and presented this research at various national and international conferences. Cindy has also served as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Trauma Nursing and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Emergency Nursing.
