The DAISY Coordinators:
Each program should have a minimum of 2 DAISY Coordinators. One who has computer time, and one who can engage nurses on the floor.
The primary role of the DAISY Coordinators is to oversee and organize the DAISY Award Program. The 2(or more) DAISY Coordinators will lead the program but should not be the only ones supporting your DAISY Program! They will help:
- Champion The DAISY Award at your organization
- Organize the DAISY Committee meetings
- Delegate roles to other committee members
- Ensure nominations (both paper and electronic nominations) are being collected regularly and blinded prior to review
- Distribute copies of nominations, thank you cards, and nominee pins
- Schedule DAISY Award Celebrations
- Keep Honoree registrations up to date
- Meet with us annually for a yearly check-in
- Manage Award inventory
- Communicate any changes with us: new shipping or invoicing contacts or change in Chief Nursing Officer.
- PLEASE NOTE: If you have more than one hospital/ facility/ location participating, please ensure there is an individual DAISY Coordinator at each location and pass this information on to us.
The DAISY Committee:
Form your DAISY committee. Some considerations:
- Existing Committee or Council, such as Professional Practice
- Patient Experience Officer
- Clerical staff member/Administrator
- Volunteer Coordinator
- Past DAISY Honoree
- Retired Nurse
- Representative from Patient/Family Advisory Council
- Chaplain/Someone from Ministry Department
- Marketing Representative
